The Sunday series
Every Sunday evening, one new entry. That's the rhythm of this blog, and it's deliberate.
The card gets emptied on Sunday. Whatever the week produced goes into the laptop, I pick what belongs together, write a few paragraphs, and post. Then the card goes back in the camera, empty, and the week starts again.
A week is a good unit. It's long enough to forget what you shot, which is the part I like most: opening the folder and seeing a Thursday you'd already filed away.
How to follow without a feed
- Bookmark the journal. New entries appear at the top on Sundays.
- Prefer a reader? There is an RSS feed.
- On Instagram I post a few fragments as a story teaser, two or three frames, no more. The full entry and the writing only live here.
- If a Sunday is skipped, it's skipped. The next one will say why.
Your turn
Some Sundays won't be mine. If you have an old digital camera, a dead-stock point-and-shoot, your parents' Casio or Sony or Kodak, and you went out with it instead of your phone, send me what it saw.
What I'm looking for:
- Photos straight off the card. No filters, no crop, date stamp on if your camera does one.
- Three to eight frames from a single evening or day.
- A few sentences about where you were and what it felt like to not have the phone out. That text matters more than the photos.
Selected sets will be posted as a Sunday entry under your name, with a link to wherever you want people to find you. Details on how to send are coming with the first guest Sunday.
Behind the camera
Every few weeks a Sunday entry is about the story behind the camera instead of what's in front of it: who it belonged to before, what got lost on a corrupted card, what the battery did at 2 a.m. in the rain. The gear is cheap. The stories around it aren't.
Next Sundays
- 01 11 2026 Launch. Jurnal #00. Why Casio?
- 08 11 2026 Jurnal #02. An event, a borrowed flash
- 15 11 2026 Jurnal #03. To be decided by what the card says.
Jurnal #01 is the exception: it went up on a Thursday, because the pictures were from the Thursday before and the card was full.
