Thursday 6 photos 12 on the card, the keepers are below. Swipe through them.

The plan was one drink after class. The card says otherwise.

Placeholder for frame 1 of 6: three friends outside the university entrance, dusk.05 11 2026
18:40. Outside the faculty. Still "one drink".
Placeholder for frame 2 of 6: a table of drinks, flash reflection in the glasses.05 11 2026
The flash in every glass. I've stopped trying to avoid it.
Placeholder for frame 3 of 6: a friend laughing, out of focus, motion blur.05 11 2026
Blurry. Keeping it. It's the most accurate one of the night.
Placeholder for frame 4 of 6: a street at night, tram lights streaking.05 11 2026
Walking to the second place. Tram, probably the last one.
Placeholder for frame 5 of 6: someone else holding the camera, pointed back at the group.05 11 2026
Not mine. Somebody took the camera off me around midnight. Good.
Placeholder for frame 6 of 6: an empty street and a kebab shop light, very dark.06 11 2026
Battery warning. Date rolled over. Last frame.

What I noticed

Nobody asked to see the photos. That's new. Normally the second the phone comes out there's a small queue to check the result, retake, check again. The Casio makes a noise, the flash goes off, and then it's over, because there's nothing to look at. You can squint at the tiny screen but it tells you nothing. So you don't.

Around midnight somebody took the camera from me and I didn't get it back for an hour. Frame five is from that hour. I don't know who took it. I like that I don't know.

Things that went wrong

  • Battery died at the last place. The low-battery frame is the last one on the card.
  • The date rolled past midnight, so the last photo is officially from the 6th. The camera is right. The night disagrees.
  • At least four of the twelve are unusable. Four out of twelve is a good night.

Posted on a Thursday because the card was full and I couldn't wait until Sunday. Sorry. Back to the schedule next week.
